Bahá'ís of Marin

Bahá'ís believe it’s time for humanity to come together as one family, to create a world where everyone can thrive. In Marin County, there are currently  Bahá'ís in Corte Madera, Fairfax, Larkspur, Marin City, Mill Valley, Novato, Point Reyes Station, San Anselmo, San Rafael, Sausalito and Tiburon. Bahá'ís meet in the private homes and welcome visitors and enquirers. Occasional larger meetings are held in public locations.

Devotions & Study

Open to individuals of all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds, the Bahá'ís of Marin host devotional gatherings and study circles to help create a space for conversation about the spiritual dimension of human existence. Themes range from "Reflections on the Life of the Spirit" to "Engaging in Social Action" and everything in between, held in a respectful and welcoming atmosphere.

Activities

Coming from diverse backgrounds, Bahá'ís of Marin are active in a variety of social and interfaith efforts within the wider community. In particular, Bahá’ís work with children and youth, whom we regard as the most precious treasure a community can possess. The goal of Bahá’í education is to foster  spiritual development and to contribute to the collective well-being of society.

Bahá’ís reside in well over 100,000 localities. About 2,100 indigenous tribes, races, and ethnic groups are represented in the Bahá’í community. The teachings of the Bahá’í Faith inspire individuals and communities to join forces with others to improve their own lives and contribute to the advancement of civilization. Bahá’í beliefs address such essential themes as the oneness of humanity, the elimination of all forms of prejudice, the equality of men and women, the unity of all religions in their spiritual teachings, the inherent nobility of the human being, the progressive revelation of religious truth, the development of spiritual qualities, the integration of worship and service, the harmony between science and religion, the centrality of justice to all human endeavors, the importance of education, and the dynamics of the relationships that bind together individuals, communities, and institutions as humanity advances towards its collective maturity. The Bahá'í Faith invites everyone to take part in a lifelong process of independent investigation and learning about how spiritual principles — such as the elimination of prejudice and the equality of women and men — can be translated into a new social reality. The central teaching of the Baha’i Faith is the oneness of humanity, meaning that the long-promised age of global justice and peace is finally within humanity’s reach. The primary purpose of bahaiteachings.org is to help advance this humanitarian process thorough striving to deepen our understanding of the Baha’i teachings and to apply these teachings to contemporary challenges.
